ARBUS - A Recess In The Wall E.P.

Recently my dear friends Matt & Cam went on tour in Japan with their hardcore band, American Me. Upon touring they played a show with Arbus, a hardcore band based out of Kyoto, Japan . Now mind you, I'm not really into hardcore music, so when Matt told me to check out this Japanese hardcore band I was a bit skeptical but also curious to see if Japanese hardcore is better than American. Of fucking course it is!!! The singing is in English & its pretty typical hardcore screaming but its a crispy clean scream, not that deep growling cookie monster shit. The music however is bodacious. Tough ass riffs that are complex & melodic. They've also incorporated one of the coolest breakdowns that more hardcore bands should try....Smooth Latin jazz breakdowns. I highly recommend this album even if you don't like hardcore music.

Trenchmouth - More Motion: A Collection

Trenchmouth was around from 1990-1996. I am posting this album mainly because one of my favorite comedians, Fred Armisan, played drums for this band. He didnt just "play" the drums either...He fucking tore it up on the drums, as well as the bassist & guitarist. Trenchmouth combines a lot of cool elements in their music such as punk, hardcore, latin jazz, dance, reggae & funk. The music is pretty damn intricate & energetic. The album that I have posted is mostly a collection of their songs from other albums. Enjoy!

Parlovr-S/T

This shit right hur, well, this shit will get your ass groobin. Parlovr has a "heart felt-drunken-dance-pop" sound to them. Yes, I did just make up that term. When you listen to this album perhaps you'll understand.

Dada Trash Collage - Neighbors

Not much detailed information on Dada Trash Collage but from what I've gathered it's just one guy making incredible experimental/psychedelic music. The music is filled with carefully thought out layers upon layers of effects, accompanied by melodic vocals that seam to have a certain angst to them. I find myself getting lost in the music but in the best way possible. Another "visually stimulating" artist. The album is about 45 minutes long with only 7 songs. The songs flow so well & go so many places that you wont get bored or even want to skip to the next song. Hard to pick a favorite song but "Paint on the Windows" is my personal favorite(listen close to the lyrics & you'll see why). Whole album is just fantastic. Do it. Download the album.

Netherfriends - Calling You Out E.P./Barry & Sherry

This band has become one of my all time favorite finds. Netherfriends have a feel good vibe to their albums that are a bit reminiscent of Animal Collective's "Feels" while still keeping their own unique sound. I'm having a hard time really describing Netherfriends music because, for me, their music seams more visual & imaginative. Not sure if that makes me sound like some spaced out hippie but its really the only way I can explain the music.Their 2009 E.P "Calling You Out" is more upbeat & catchy. Their latest album "Barry & Sherry" is a bit more mellow & dreamy. Both are tits.

Free Moral Agents-Control This

Incredible new album from Ikey Owens(Keyboardist of The Mars Volta) side project, Free Moral Agents.
When I had heard their first album, Everybody's Favorite Weapon, I wasn't that impressed. This album seems well more orchestrated & captivating. Each song has its own special uniqueness while still keeping this jazz-electro-jam-funk-psychedelic vibe to it. This album also includes a Sonic Youth cover & a track with hip hop artist Busdriver! Neat!

Hulk Hogan & The Wrestling Boot Band -Hulk Rules!

Holy shit.....First of all, what you're witnessing does truly exist. My friends & I found this gem in the 99 cent store about 6 years ago & played it more often than anyone ever should. Yes, it is that good/hilarious. So for nostalgic reasons, I present to you, Hulk Hogan(he also plays bass on the album by the way)
